Dry ice blasting machines | Dry ice cleaning | Cleaning materials/materials | Textile cleaning
The application of the dry ice blasting process is extremely versatile. In the textile industry, it is mainly used for cleaning upholstered furniture, carpets, curtains and other textiles. Historical textiles that require gentle cleaning also benefit from this technique, as it leaves no chemical residue and has therefore proven to be ideal for delicate materials.
In contrast to conventional cleaning methods, dry ice blasting has special advantages, especially when it comes to sensitive materials and complex textile structures.
Dry ice blasting uses dry ice in the form of small pellets that are frozen at temperatures of around -78.5 °C. These extremely low temperatures cause dirt and contaminants, such as dust, grease, nicotine, paint residue or other deposits, to become brittle and fragile. The actual cleaning process is carried out by the kinetic energy released when the dry ice pellets hit the textile surface. The impurities are loosened from the fibers without damaging the underlying material.
A major advantage of this process is that it is gentle on the material. Conventional cleaning methods, especially dry cleaning, can negatively affect the structure and color of textiles or even cause irreversible damage. Dry ice blasting, on the other hand, is non-abrasive and has no negative impact on the textile fibers; it is particularly suitable for delicate fabrics such as silk, wool or textiles with special coatings.

As the process is largely dry, drying times are eliminated and the textiles can be used again immediately after cleaning. This is particularly advantageous in time-critical applications, such as in the catering or event industry, where fast turnaround times are required.
Using dry ice for cleaning not only minimizes the time it takes for textiles to be ready for use again after treatment, but also reduces the risk of mould growth and odour development that can occur with conventional, damp cleaning methods. As no water is used, textiles are immediately dry and in perfect condition, extending their life and reducing the need for additional care.
